Cape Queen Elizabeth
Bruny Island
Cape Queen Elizabeth is
located in the south eastern corner of North Bruny Island. The track
commences by the main road a few hundred metres north of the airstrip. The
northern end of Adventure Bay Beach is reached after an easy 30 minute walk.
Immediately north when approaching the beach Mars Bluff appears on the left.
An interesting formation which encroaches into the ocean blocking the way to
the cape at high tide when the Bluff needs to be climbed. However, there is
a conveniently located arch in the rock at high tide mark. This makes the
beach access to Cape Queen Elizabeth by the beach route most of the time.
Miles Beach needs to be
negotiated before picking up the track to the cape again. The day we visited
we were only able to reach the northern end of the beach.
