RALPH'S FALLS - MT VICTORIA

North East Tasmania - The Bay of Fires

The Between Scottsdale and Derby, the township of Ringarooma is bypassed on the southern side of the highway.  One road through Ringarooma continues on and eventually heads up an old logging road to Mt Victoria.  At the top there is a very rewarding short walk to Ralph's Falls and around a bluff to Cash's Gorge.  Well worth the trip.  A word of warning.  The road up from Ringarooma is very narrow and although two way, the trip back is not recommended.  In places backing up is required to let oncoming traffic pass.  There are many blind corners.  A new road has been constructed beyond Ralph's Falls to St Columba Falls.  Much of the rainforest around Mt Victoria and St Columba Falls remains intact.  A very pretty drive.
