Gads Falls

The Mersey Forest Road

NOTE:

THE AREA WAS COMPLETELY DESTROYED BY FIRES IN 2016. TO TRAILS IS VERY DANGEROUS AND CLOSED

The first hydro electric lake reached along The Mersey Forest Road is Lake Parangana.  A kilometre or two along the lake Gads Creek is reached.  An often missed sign to Gads Falls is by the side of the road.  Just a 20 minute return very pretty walk.  Awkward in places - needed to take off the shoes for a few steps - freezing cold.  At its best in winter when the moss is prolific.

The sign at the commencement of the track. Apologies to Forestry Tasmania for removing one of the 'd's in Gads.
