BURNIE

The industrial city of Burnie on Tasmania's North West Coast hosts several fine gardens and reserves.

BURNIE is the 'capital' of Tasmania's North West Coast.

The easiest drive to Cradle Mountain is from Burnie through Ridgley.  A high standard road virtually all the way.  About an hour and a half drive.

However, there is plenty to see around Burnie and beyond to the far North West.

With a population of about 60,000 in the greater area, the City has plenty of good quality facilities.

Burnie port from Upper Burnie.  The city centre is just to the left.
