South Arm Peninsula

SOUTH EAST TASMANIA

South Arm Peninsula is a forty minute drive from Hobart.  Head across the Tasman Bridge and take a right turn!  A scenic drive with expansive coastal views most of the way. There are two towns on the peninsula including South Arm and Opossum Bay.  There are very few facilities.  There is a convenience store in each town and a pharmacy. There are many side trips along the way. One of the more popular is CLIFTON BEACH.  There is a surf lifesaving club here.  There is a walking track to Cape Deslacs at the eastern end of the beach.  Another diversion along the way is Mortimer Bay.  A popular location for capturing the Aurora Australis.
